In June, two vibrant meetings took place with a guest from Tübingen, Gunter Kilgus, a member of the West-East Society. The events were held at the Petrozavodsk City Public Organization “Petrozavodsk–Tübingen Friendship Society.”
The meetings were attended by members of the society, German language teachers, students of the Institute of Foreign Languages, and those who enjoy communication. Over a cup of aromatic coffee, those gathered discussed the history of the sister-city ties between Petrozavodsk and Tübingen, shared memories of trips and exchanges, and also outlined plans for the future.

The conversations touched on a wide variety of topics: from unforgettable travels and literature to performing arts and the hobbies of today’s young people. The participants also compared the gastronomic preferences of Russia and Germany.
The atmosphere of the meetings was friendly, filled with joy and laughter. Despite the current absence of large-scale exchange programs, the organization uses every opportunity for international communication, maintaining friendly ties, and cultural exchange in an accessible format.
