A family evening featuring the kantele and runic songs was held at the Petrozavodsk-Tübingen Friendship Society

At the Petrozavodsk City Public Organization “Petrozavodsk–Tübingen Friendship Society,” a Family Evening from the series “Karelian Culture in German” was held.

The participants of the meeting played the kantele and performed runes in German dedicated to already familiar heroes of the epic “Kalevala.” Each instrument sounded individual, which became one of the wonders of the cozy circle of rune singers.

The opportunity to hold the kantele in one’s hands and independently draw sounds from the instrument became a significant event for everyone present. Margarita helped the participants master accompaniment on the kantele, and Evelina taught them to read runes in German.

The organization invites everyone interested to the next lesson in the series “Karelian Culture in German.”
