The "Culture of Karelia in German" series of sessions has concluded at the Petrozavodsk-Tübingen Friendship Society

At the Petrozavodsk City Public Organization “Petrozavodsk–Tübingen Friendship Society,” the series of classes “Karelian Culture in German” has come to an end.

Participants of the final meeting:

  • learned about the traditions of wearing a headscarf in Karelia, both by women and by men;
  • expanded their vocabulary with German and Karelian words;
  • organized a fashion show of Karelian and German national costumes;
  • got acquainted with the German folk song “Zum Tanze da geht ein Mädel...”

The lesson ended with a traditional tea party with sweets in a cozy, friendly circle. Children and adults were pleased with the time spent together.

The Petrozavodsk–Tübingen Friendship Society expresses its gratitude to Margarita Kemppainen and Evelina Proskuryakova for conducting the classes “Family Evening with German Language” within the project “Karelian Culture in German.”

The classes are preserved in the organization’s methodological collection and can be held again upon request from educational organizations or private groups.
